The Chinese owner of the Saab brand showed the first serial electric crossover

The Chinese car brand Hengchi brought its first model to the serial version. Pictures of an electric crossover with a concise index of 5 were published by the Carnewschina portal.

The car is not similar to the concept of the same name shown earlier. Headlights and lanterns in the form of boomerangs, glazing narrowed in the rear part of the body, and an extensive panoramic roof attract attention. The pictures show cars in different design options: all black and bright two-tone.

Crossover length of 4725 millimeters has 2780 millimeters between the axles. The mass for a medium-sized electric SUV is not too large, less than two tons. The electric motor is one, with a power of 201 hp. It is produced in China at a joint venture with the participation of the German concern Bosch. Top speed is limited to 180 km/h.

According to preliminary information, the cars will be assembled at a new plant in the port city of Tianjin. The official debut is promised at the end of November at the motor show in Guangzhou. There are no other details yet.

The Hengchi brand belongs to the Chinese holding company Evergrande. He also owns the NEVS consortium, which owns the Swedish Saab. Recently, the holding tried to sell its automotive business to Xiaomi, but the deal fell through. Earlier, Evergrande promised to launch nine models of electric cars on the market and by 2035 produce five million cars annually.
