The premium brand of the Toyota Group will market a 100% electric version of its C-SUV, the UX, in 2020. Its autonomy in the NEDC cycle is 400 km.
It is in China at the international motor show in Canton (22 November to 1 st December 2019), Lexus recently formalized its big jump in electric. The premium brand has just unveiled the UX 300e, a version devoid of thermal engine of its C-SUV. A first in the field for this entity of the Toyota group known for its classic hybrid proposals that represent 99.9% of its 5,629 registrations in France since January.
The UX 300e features a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor with 300 Nm of torque. It draws its energy from a lithium-ion battery 54.4 kWh placed under the floor of the cabin. A capacity that allows the SUV to display a range of 400 kilometers in the NEDC cycle. Lexus takes advantage of this switch to all-electric to refine some details of the vehicle, including its damping, soundproofing, or its connectivity adapted to the circumstances (the driver can for example check the battery level and remaining battery life on the LexusLink application).
The commercialization of the UX 300e will begin in China and Europe in 2020, then in Japan in early 2021.
